Jim and Barb are especially proud this year. Blueberry Hill B&B was voted the # 1 B&B on the Baccalioeu Trail in 2003. They are striving to repeat this honour in 2004.

Jim and Barb have travelled widely. French, German and Swedish, as well as English, are spoken at Blueberry Hill B& B.

Although Jim grew up in the little community of Cavendish, he travelled the world with the Canadian military. When he retired after 30 years' of service, he returned and had Blueberry Hill built.

Barb is originally from Sweden. She also worked for the military, but as a civilian. She went to college for two years studying Travel & Tourism. When she graduated in 1998, they decided to open their home as a Bed & Breakfast.

Barb and Jim have said: "Opening Blueberry Hill Bed and Breakfast for accommodations is the best thing we ever did. We love it! It is great to meet so many people. We should have done this long ago".

Barb and Jim strive to provide excellent service to their guests. Since graduating, Barb has attended a number of courses, seminars, and conferences to enhance her natural ability as a host. The Atlantic Superhost program was one of the most useful she has attended.

Along with Barb and Jim, their Newfoundland dog Fifi also serves as a hostess.

She is, however, not allowed in the bedrooms or dining room. No one with allergies has experienced any discomfort. Most guests love her for her beauty and her gentle, loving nature.
